Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint oil is a hybrid species of mint, a cross between water mint and spearmint. Indigenous to Europe and the Middle East, the plant is now widely spread and cultivated in many regions. It is occasionally found in the wild with its parent species. Peppermint oil is the essential oil taken from the flowering parts and leaves of the peppermint plant. The essential oils of Peppermint are found in cells on the underside of the leaves and are collected through the process of steam distilling the fresh or partially dried plant leaves.
